Bern University of Applied Sciences Architecture, Wood and Civil engineering BFH-AHB attaches great importance to promoting and expanding opportunities for international exchanges in the areas of study, research and teaching, which is why we have launched a broad range of international projects.

Professional education in Gabon                   

Ten vocational-school teachers from Gabon are in Switzerland, training to be specialists in the areas of education policy, school management and the wood industry. The specially-developed EMBA course is offered by the BFH-AHB and the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training.

Exchange program JapanOur partnership with Chiba University of Horticulture in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, is particularly successful. Japanese and Swiss students have been trading places for some years now during the Summer School.

The “elop*” – embedded learning-oriented project environment – project studio has been available to master’s degree students since spring 2009. It is an international and trans-disciplinary programme managed by the BFH-AHB.

We focus particularly on cooperation with emerging and developing countries. Our Center for Development and Cooperation is specifically responsible for development cooperation projects with regard to the three areas of architecture, wood and civil engineering.
