SEMP (Swiss European Mobility Programme) / Erasmus+
Erasmus+ is an action programme that was set up by the European Union to facilitate cross-border cooperation in various areas of general education, and its different programme lines provide support for students, as well as teaching and other staff at universities. At EU level, Switzerland holds third-country status in the 2015 round of proposals. The State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) and the ch Foundation for Federal Cooperation have drawn up a transitional solution (SEMP) for Erasmus+ in 2014 for Switzerland. Mobility activities with countries of the EU and EFTA are still possible. Recognition for work done during exchanges is based on the European Credit Transfer System, or ECTS.
