CAS Wood-Based Panels – Module 3: Surface Treatment28.01.2019
From the substrate characterisation and preparation to the selection, application and evaluation of coatings systems. This course provides a complete description of coatings for wood and wood materials. It deals with the substrate and coating characterisation, the application processes, and finally the evaluation of coated surface performances. The most common analysis tools for surface characterisation of materials are described and used. A highlight is also provided about R+D topics in the field of wood coating. The students will then be provided with theoretical and practical knowledge in the surface treatment of wood and wood based materials, which will allow them to be efficient in the choice of coating systems and application processes.
